Inizialmente il progetto \u00e8 stato fondato dall'organizzazione Yorba Foundation, che ha creato il popolare gestore di foto Shotwell, ma successivamente lo sviluppo \u00e8 passato nelle mani della comunit\u00e0 GNOME. Il codice \u00e8 scritto in Vala e distribuito sotto licenza LGPL. Le versioni pronte saranno preparate a breve in forma di pacchetto autonomo. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/flathub.org\/repo\/appstream\/org.gnome.Geary.flatpakref\">flatpak<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<p>L'obiettivo dello sviluppo del progetto \u00e8 creare un prodotto ricco di funzionalit\u00e0, ma estremamente semplice da usare e che consuma un minimo di risorse. Il client di posta \u00e8 progettato sia per un uso autonomo che per lavorare in collaborazione con i servizi di posta web-oriented, come Gmail e Yahoo! Mail. L'interfaccia \u00e8 realizzata tramite la libreria GTK3+. Per la memorizzazione del database dei messaggi viene utilizzato SQLite, e per la ricerca nel database dei messaggi si crea un indice full-text. Per lavorare con IMAP \u00e8 stata utilizzata una nuova libreria basata su GObject che opera in modalit\u00e0 asincrona (le operazioni di caricamento della posta non bloccano l'interfaccia).<\/p>\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.gnome.org\/Apps\/Geary?action=AttachFile&#038;do=get&#038;target=geary-3-36-main-window.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Uscita del client di posta Geary 3.38\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/1a8688d5cdeaa26dc80a58c5e7576864.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Novit\u00e0 principali:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00c8 stata implementata la supporto <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.gnome.org\/Apps\/Geary\/Plugins\">plugin<\/a><\/noindex>, tramite i quali si prevede di fornire funzionalit\u00e0 aggiuntive. Attualmente sono disponibili plugin per riprodurre suoni all'invio di un'email, creare modelli di email, integrare con il menu della shell Unity e organizzare newsletter tramite liste di indirizzi in file CSV.
