Nelle versioni desktop di Fedora, gi\u00e0 attualmente dotate di filesystem Btrfs di default, si prevede che venga abilitata la compressione dati trasparente mediante la libreria Zstd<\/a> di Facebook. Si tratta della futura release di Fedora 34, prevista per la fine di aprile. Oltre a risparmiare spazio su disco, la compressione dati trasparente mira anche a ridurre l'usura degli SSD e di altre unit\u00e0 flash. Inoltre, si prevede un aumento delle prestazioni durante le letture e le scritture.<\/p>\n
