Nelle versioni desktop di Fedora, che utilizzano gi\u00e0 di default il filesystem Btrfs, \u00e8 previsto l'inserimento della compressione trasparente dei dati tramite la libreria Zstd<\/a> di Facebook. Si tratta del prossimo rilascio di Fedora 34, che dovrebbe arrivare a fine aprile. Oltre a risparmiare spazio su disco, la compressione trasparente dei dati avr\u00e0 lo scopo di ridurre anche l'usura degli SSD e di altri dispositivi flash. Inoltre, ci si aspetta un aumento delle prestazioni nella lettura e scrittura.<\/p>\n
