Microsoft ha presentato una nuova estensione per l'editor di codice Visual Studio Code, implementando strumenti per la compilazione, il debug e l'esecuzione di progetti che utilizzano script di build basati su file Makefile, oltre alla modifica di Makefile e al rapido richiamo dei comandi make. L'estensione include impostazioni preconfigurate per oltre 70 progetti open source che utilizzano l'utilit\u00e0 make per la compilazione, tra cui CPython, FreeBSD, GCC, Git, il kernel Linux, PostgresSQL, PHP, OpenZFS e VLC. L'estensione \u00e8 distribuita con licenza MIT ed \u00e8 disponibile per l'installazione tramite il marketplace di VS Code.
