\u00c8 stata pubblicata la versione beta della distribuzione openSUSE Leap 15.3, basata su un insieme fondamentale di pacchetti della distribuzione SUSE Linux Enterprise con alcune applicazioni personalizzate dal repository openSUSE Tumbleweed. \u00c8 disponibile per il download un'immagine universale DVD di dimensioni 4,3 GB (x86_64, aarch64, ppc64les, 390x). Il rilascio di openSUSE Leap 15.3 \u00e8 previsto per luglio 2021. <\/p>\n

Diversamente dalle versioni precedenti di openSUSE Leap, la versione 15.3 non \u00e8 costruita tramite il repackage dei pacchetti src di SUSE Linux Enterprise, ma utilizzando un insieme unico di pacchetti binari identici a quelli di SUSE Linux Enterprise 15 SP 3. Si prevede che l'uso degli stessi pacchetti binari in SUSE e openSUSE semplifichi la migrazione da una distribuzione all'altra, risparmi risorse per la compilazione dei pacchetti, la distribuzione degli aggiornamenti e il testing, unifichi le differenze nei file spec e consenta di allontanarsi dalla diagnostica delle diverse compilazioni nei messaggi di errore. L'ambiente desktop Xfce \u00e8 stato aggiornato alla versione 4.16.
