\u00c8 stato pubblicato il primo rilascio del progetto labwc, che sviluppa un server composito per Wayland con funzionalit\u00e0 simili a quelle del gestore di finestre Openbox (il progetto si presenta come un tentativo di creare un'alternativa ad Openbox per Wayland). Tra le caratteristiche di labwc ci sono il minimalismo, un'implementazione compatta, ampie possibilit\u00e0 di personalizzazione e alte prestazioni. Il codice del progetto \u00e8 scritto in C e distribuito con licenza GPLv2. <\/p>\n

Come base viene utilizzata la libreria wlroots, sviluppata dai programmatori dell'ambiente desktop Sway e che fornisce le funzioni di base per organizzare il lavoro di un gestore di composizione basato su Wayland. Per l'esecuzione di applicazioni X11 in un ambiente basato sul protocollo Wayland \u00e8 supportato l'uso del componente DDX XWayland. <\/p>\n

In futuro \u00e8 previsto supportare i file di configurazione di Openbox e i temi di Openbox, garantire il funzionamento su schermi HiDPI, implementare il supporto per i protocolli layer-shell, wlr-output-management e foreign-toplevel, integrare il supporto per i menu, aggiungere la possibilit\u00e0 di posizionare indicatori sullo schermo (osd) e un'interfaccia di cambio finestra in stile Alt+Tab.
