Gli sviluppatori del progetto KDE Neon, che crea build live con le versioni pi\u00f9 recenti dei software e dei componenti KDE, hanno annunciato la cessazione dello sviluppo della versione LTS di KDE Neon Plasma, il cui supporto \u00e8 stato fornito per diciotto mesi invece dei normali quattro. La build era destinata all'uso quotidiano da parte di chi desidera avere le ultime versioni delle applicazioni, mantenendo al contempo un desktop stabile (veniva offerta la versione LTS del desktop Plasma, insieme alle versioni pi\u00f9 aggiornate delle applicazioni). <\/p>\n

La cessazione della generazione delle build LTS di KDE Neon \u00e8 prevista per il 1\u00b0 luglio. Tra le ragioni di questa decisione ci sono i costi elevati di mantenimento, la non corrispondenza con l'idea generale del progetto (fornire un ambiente KDE il pi\u00f9 fresco e moderno possibile) e una domanda relativamente bassa per le build LTS da parte degli utenti. Agli utenti della versione LTS di KDE Neon \u00e8 consigliato di passare alla versione normale di KDE Neon User Edition, se la stabilit\u00e0 del desktop non \u00e8 critica, oppure a Kubuntu LTS o openSUSE Leap, se desiderano una versione LTS di KDE Plasma pi\u00f9 stabile.
