The release of nEMU version 3.0.0 has taken place.
nEMU — is an ncurses interface for QEMU, simplifying the creation, configuration, and management of virtual machines.
The code is written in C and is distributed under the BSD-2.
Belangrijkste wijzigingen:
- Support for -netdev user (hostfwd, smb). Allows access to the external network for the virtual machine without any additional network configuration.
- Support for QMP commands snapshot-{save, load, delete}, which appeared in QEMU-6.0.0. There is no need to patch QEMU for working with snapshots anymore.
- Correct display of input forms and parameter editing when changing the window size (the bug was seven years old,
GrafIn heroically fixed it). - API for remote management of virtual machines. Now nEMU can accept JSON commands via TLS socket. The method descriptions are in the file remote_api.txt. Additionally, an Android clienthas been developed. With it, you can currently start, stop, and connect to virtual machines via the SPICE protocol.
New parameters in the configuration file, section [nemu-monitor]:
- remote_control — enables the API.
- remote_port — the port on which the TLS socket listens, default is 20509.
- remote_tls_cert — path to the public certificate.
- remote_tls_key — path to the private key of the certificate.
- remote_salt — salt.
- remote_hash — checksum from the password plus salt (sha256).
Ebuilds, deb, rpm, nix and other builds are available in the repository.
