In the experimental branch of the Xfce 4.15 desktop currently under development, which will form the basis for the stable release 4.16, interface translation to widget , which has enabled client-side decorations (CSD), where the title and borders of the window are rendered not by the window manager, but by the application itself. The use of CSD has allowed, similar to GNOME, for the placement of menus, buttons, and other interface elements in the window title, as well as the hiding of borders in dialogs.
The use of GtkHeaderBar for rendering the interface is integrated into the libxfce4ui library, which has led to the automatic application of CSD for almost all dialogs, without the need for changes in the code of existing projects. Additionally, separate work has been done on redesigning the 'About Xfce' and 'Display' dialogs. In the
Appearance dialog, only themes supported in GTK3 are displayed. Icon selection for applications has been simplified. The option to use a dark theme for the panel is enabled by default. A Directory Menu plugin for direct creation of files and directories is proposed.
