De release van het BusyBox 1.34-package is gepresenteerd met de implementatie van een set standaard UNIX-tools, gepresenteerd als \u00e9\u00e9n uitvoerbaar bestand en geoptimaliseerd voor minimaal verbruik van systeembronnen met een totale grootte van minder dan 1 MB. BusyBox is a key tool in the fight against GPL violations in firmware. Organizations like the Software Freedom Conservancy (SFC) and Software Freedom Law Center (SFLC) have repeatedly successfully pressured companies that do not provide access to the source code of GPL programs, both through lawsuits and by reaching out-of-court agreements on behalf of BusyBox developers. Meanwhile, the author of BusyBox strongly opposes such protection, believing it undermines his business. <\/p>\n
