De code is geschreven in C en wordt verspreid onder de GPLv2-licentie.    <\/p>\n<p>De bibliotheek biedt hoogpresterende implementaties van moderne crypto-algoritmen, waaronder ChaCha20, Curve25519, NTRU, RSA, Blake2b, TLS 1.0-1.3 en DTLS 1.2, die volgens de ontwikkelaars 20 keer compacter zijn dan de implementaties van OpenSSL. Er is een vereenvoudigde API beschikbaar, evenals een laag voor compatibiliteit met de OpenSSL API. Ondersteuning voor OCSP (Online Certificate Status Protocol) en CRL (Certificate Revocation List) is aanwezig voor het controleren van de intrekking van certificaten.    <\/p>\n<p>Belangrijkste verbeteringen in wolfSSL 5.0.0:  <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor platformen toegevoegd: IoT-Safe (met TLS-ondersteuning), SE050 (met ondersteuning voor RNG, SHA, AES, ECC en ED25519) en Renesas TSIP 1.13 (voor RX72N microcontrollers).\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor post-kwantumcryptografie-algoritmen toegevoegd, die bestand zijn tegen aanvallen met kwantumcomputers: groepen NIST Round 3 KEM voor TLS 1.3 en hybride groepen NIST ECC op basis van het OQS-project (Open Quantum Safe, liboqs). Kwantumveilige groepen zijn ook toegevoegd voor compatibiliteit in de laag. Ondersteuning voor NTRU- en QSH-algoritmen is stopgezet.\n<li class=\"l\"> In de Linux kernel-module is ondersteuning ge\u00efmplementeerd voor cryptografische algoritmen die voldoen aan de FIPS 140-3 beveiligingsnorm. Een apart product met implementatie van FIPS 140-3 is gepresenteerd, waarvan de code momenteel wordt getest, beoordeeld en geverifieerd.\n<li class=\"l\"> De Linux-kernelmodule heeft varianten van de algoritmes RSA, ECC, DH, DSA, AES\/AES-GCM toegevoegd, versneld door CPU x86 vectorinstructies. De interrupthandlers zijn ook versneld met behulp van vectorinstructies. Ondersteuning voor een subsysteem voor moduleverificatie met digitale handtekeningen is toegevoegd. Er is een mogelijkheid om de ingebedde cryptografische engine wolfCrypt te bouwen in de modus &#171;&#8212;enable-linuxkm-pie&#187; (positie-onafhankelijk). De module ondersteunt Linux-kernels 3.16, 4.4, 4.9, 5.4 en 5.10.\n<li class=\"l\"> In de compatibiliteitslaag met andere bibliotheken en applicaties is ondersteuning toegevoegd voor libssh2, pyOpenSSL, libimobiledevice, rsyslog, OpenSSH 8.5p1 en Python 3.8.5.\n<li class=\"l\"> Een grote set nieuwe API's is toegevoegd, waaronder EVP_blake2, wolfSSL_set_client_CA_list,
