De code van het project is geschreven in C++ en wordt verspreid onder de Zlib-licentie. De ontwikkeling is gebaseerd op de codebasis van het DXVK-project met implementaties van Direct3D 9, 10 en 11 bovenop Vulkan.     <\/p>\n<p>D8VK 1.0 wordt aangemerkt als de eerste versie van het project die geschikt is voor algemeen gebruik en getest op honderden games. In vergelijking met de projecten WineD3D en d3d8to9, waarin Direct3D 8 wordt getransformeerd naar OpenGL en Direct3D 9, toont het D8VK-project hogere prestaties, stabiliteit en compatibiliteit met games. Zo behaalde D8VK een score van 144660 in de 3DMark 2001 SE-test, terwijl de combinatie d3d8to9 en dxvk 118033 behaalde, en WineD3D 97134.    <center><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Eerste stabiele
