De release OpenWrt 23.05.1 is niet gevormd vanwege het ontdekken van een fout. OpenWrt ondersteunt veel verschillende platforms en architecturen en heeft een build-systeem dat het eenvoudig maakt om cross-compilatie uit te voeren, inclusief verschillende componenten in de build, waardoor het gemakkelijk is om een aangepaste firmware of schijfimage te maken met de gewenste set vooraf ge\u00efnstalleerde pakketten.
