De kwetsbaarheid is veroorzaakt door een gehele getal overflow in de code van de parsing van verpakte headers (HPack) en doet zich voor bij het ontvangen van meer dan 4 GB aan totale HTTP-headergegevens of 2 GB voor een enkele header.
