In de FreeBSD 15 release zullen de platforms armv6, i386 en powerpc niet meer worden geleverd, en in de FreeBSD 16 release zal de ondersteuning voor het armv7 platform worden stopgezet. De mogelijkheid om 32-bits programma's te bouwen en de COMPAT_FREEBSD32 modus te gebruiken om 32-bits uitvoerbare bestanden uit te voeren in een 64-bits kernomgeving blijft ten minste tot het einde van de levenscyclus van de FreeBSD 16 release bestaan.      <\/p>\n<p>Als redenen voor de be\u00ebindiging van de ondersteuning van 32-bits architecturen worden de afname van de populariteit van
