Dit kan situaties voorkomen waarin na een hardwarestoring of om een andere reden slechts een deel van de blokken wordt geschreven, terwijl in het andere deel oude informatie blijft staan. Het inschakelen van de atomische schrijfmethode gebeurt via de systeemaanroep pwritev(), waaraan de vlag RWF_ATOMIC is toegevoegd.<\/li>\n<li>De beperking op het schrijven naar uitvoerbare bestanden, die zijn verbonden met actieve processen, is opgeheven. Eerder gaf de kernel een foutmelding bij een poging om te schrijven naar een uitvoerbaar bestand van een actief proces.<\/li>\n<li>Er is de mogelijkheid toegevoegd om stuurprogramma's voor blokapparaten te ontwikkelen in de programmeertaal Rust. Als voorbeeld is de rnull-driver aan de kernel toegevoegd, die een equivalent is van de null_blk-driver, geschreven in Rust. Ook is de overdracht van wijzigingen uit de Rust-for-Linux-branch voortgezet, met betrekking tot het gebruik van Rust als tweede taal voor het ontwikkelen van stuurprogramma's en modules van de kernel (ondersteuning voor Rust is standaard niet ingeschakeld en leidt niet tot de opname van Rust in de vereiste build-vereisten voor de kernel).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p> <noindex><noindex><\/p>\n<p>Een
