Het kan zowel een enkele schijf als meerdere schijven tegelijkertijd wissen.<br \/><\/noindex> De tool is geschreven in de programmeertaal C met gebruik van de ncurses-bibliotheek voor de tekstinterface en wordt verspreid onder de GNU GPL 2.0-licentie.<\/p>\n<p>Wijzigingenlijst:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Er is een compilatiefout opgelost in sommige distributies, die alleen relevant is voor i686.<\/li>\n<li>Een functie is toegevoegd die alleen relevant is voor <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/PartialVolume\/shredos.x86_64\">ShredOS<\/a>: de toets <strong>f<\/strong> schakelt de lettergrootte over van standaard naar dubbel, in andere distributies van <strong>X.Org<\/strong> en <strong>Wayland<\/strong> werkt deze niet. Drukken op de toets <strong>f<\/strong> wordt alleen verwerkt op de schijvenkeuze- en voortgangsschermen.<\/li>\n<li>Fouten zijn opgelost bij het opvragen van verborgen sectoren voor SAS-schijven.<\/li>\n<li>In sommige distributies kon nwipe hdparm of smartctl niet vinden, zelfs als ze ge\u00efnstalleerd waren. Hun zoektocht is toegevoegd aan \/usr\/sbin\/.<\/li>\n<li>De naamgeving van modellen voor USB-schijven van Hitachi, Toshiba, Western Digital en Seagate\/ST is gecorrigeerd. Dit probleem kon voornamelijk optreden bij sommige oudere adapters en interfaces van opslagmedia.<\/li>\n<li>De behandeling van toetsindrukken is gecorrigeerd <strong>S<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Voor SSD-schijven wordt altijd aanbevolen om nwipe \/ <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/PartialVolume\/shredos.x86_64\">ShredOS<\/a> te gebruiken in combinatie met de eigen tools van de fabrikant of leverancier van hardware om een volledige vernietiging van de informatie op de schijf te garanderen.
