De release van het programma syncspirit 0.4.0 is beschikbaar, waarmee gebruikers een automatische, continue synchronisatie van hun bestanden op meerdere apparaten kunnen organiseren. Dit project lost problemen op die vergelijkbaar zijn met het propri\u00ebtaire systeem BitTorrent Sync. Syncspirit is geschreven in C++ en wordt verspreid onder de GPLv3-licentie. De grafische interface is gebouwd met behulp van de FLTK-bibliotheek; voor de database wordt de binnenlandse embedded database MBDX gebruikt; en voor gebeurtenisverwerking wordt het actor framework rotor toegepast. Syncspirit is een onafhankelijke implementatie van het synchronisatieprotocol BEP, voorgesteld door het project Syncthing.
