Het wordt verwacht dat binnen enkele weken de functionaliteit voor upgrades tussen takken, die geen herinstallatie van de distributie vereisen en alle instellingen, toepassingen en bestanden van gebruikers behouden, als stabiel zal worden aangekondigd.      <\/p>\n<p>De Zorin OS-distributie valt op door de mogelijkheid om de desktop het uiterlijk te geven van verschillende versies van Windows en macOS, evenals door de opname van een selectie van programma's die dicht bij de software liggen waar Windows-gebruikers aan gewend zijn. Als basis voor de desktop in Zorin OS wordt GNOME gebruikt met een reeks eigen extensies en een paneel gebaseerd op Dash to Panel en Dash to Dock. Voor de integratie van de desktop met smartphones wordt de Zorin Connect-app (gebaseerd op KDE Connect) meegeleverd. Naast deb-pakketten en de standaard Ubuntu-repositories is ondersteuning voor de formaten Flatpak, AppImage en Snap inbegrepen, met de mogelijkheid om programma's uit de Flathub- en Snap
