Het belangrijkste kenmerk van het project is de opbouw van de gebruikersruimte (userland) met de Fil-C compiler, wat volgens de auteur resulteert in de meest veilige Linux-achtige distributie voor geheugengebruik die momenteel beschikbaar is.<\/p>\n<p>De ontwikkeling van Pizlix werd mogelijk gemaakt door de hoge mate van compatibiliteit van Fil-C met traditionele C- en C++-code. De meeste pakketten uit het LFS-boek konden worden samengesteld zonder wijzigingen in de broncode of met slechts minimale patches.<\/p>\n<p>Hoofdfuncties en technische details:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Basisbouwgereedschappen (zoals ld, make, ninja) en alle gebruikersapplicaties zijn gecompileerd met behulp van Fil-C of Fil-C++.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Er draait een geheugensafe daemon van OpenSSH.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Grafische ondersteuning: de distributie bevat een compositing <a class=\"wpil_keyword_link\" href=\"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/nl\/server\/\"   title=\"server\" data-wpil-keyword-link=\"linked\">server<\/a> Weston (Wayland) en de GTK 4 toolkit, waardoor een volledig geheugensafe grafische interface kan worden gebruikt.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Voor het samenstellen van de Linux-kernel blijft de traditionele GCC in het systeem aanwezig (geplaatst in de prefix \/yolo\/bin\/gcc), omdat de kernel wordt gecompileerd in een modus die de auteur ironisch 'Yolo-C' noemt (dus zonder geheugenveiligheidsgaranties van Fil-C).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>In de architectuur van de distributie wordt het concept 'libc sandwich' toegepast: een afgeslankte versie van glibc ('yolo glibc') wordt gebruikt door de runtime van Fil-C voor systeemaanroepen, terwijl de hoofdpersoon glibc 2.40 volledig is geporteerd naar Fil-C.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>De distributie is bedoeld voor de x86_64-architectuur. De beelden zijn getest voor gebruik in QEMU (aanbevolen optie), VMware en Hyper-V. Voor degenen die de distributie zelf willen samenstellen, is er een set scripts beschikbaar om een stapsgewijze compilatie binnen geprivilegieerde containers (Podman) op basis van Ubuntu 22 of 24 uit
