De ontwikkelaars van Chromium hebben ondersteuning voor het Wayland-protocol ge\u00efmplementeerd in de ANGLE-bibliotheek. De implementatie is gebaseerd op het gebruik van de EGL-extensie EGL_EXT_platform_wayland. De ANGLE-bibliotheek translateert OpenGL ES-aanroepen naar grafische API's zoals OpenGL, Direct3D 9\/11 en Vulkan, en wordt in Chrome gebruikt als backend voor WebGL, en in Android voor de implementatie van OpenGL ES boven Vulkan.
