Het project benadrukt dat dit de eerste keer is dat twee stabiele takken van AlmaLinux op dezelfde dag zijn uitgebracht. De release is het resultaat van verbeteringen aan de bouwinfrastructuur, automatisering en QA-processen, waardoor twee parallelle takken kunnen worden onderhouden zonder vertraging voor een van hen.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><noindex><\/p>\n<p><strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.almalinux.org\/release-notes\/9.8\">AlmaLinux 9.8<\/a><\/strong> wordt geleverd met een kernel <strong>5.14.0-687.5.3.el9_8<\/strong> en is beschikbaar in installabele ISO's voor <strong>x86_64, aarch64, ppc64le en s390x<\/strong>. <strong><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.almalinux.org\/release-notes\/10.2\">AlmaLinux 10.2<\/a><\/strong> maakt gebruik van een kernel <strong>6.12.0-211.7.3.el10_2<\/strong>; voor deze versie zijn builds voorbereid voor <strong>x86_64, x86_64_v2, aarch64, ppc64le en s390x<\/strong>, evenals een gebruikersomgeving <strong>i686<\/strong> zonder een apart 32-bits kernel en bootinstaller.<\/p>\n<p><\/noindex><\/noindex><\/p>\n<p>Beide versies bevatten fixes voor een aantal recent besproken kwetsbaarheden: <strong>Kopie fout<\/strong>, <strong>Dirty FRAG<\/strong>, <strong>Fragnesia<\/strong>, <strong>nginx Rift<\/strong> en <strong>SSH Keysign Pwn<\/strong>. Dit is belangrijk voor gebruikers die het systeem opnieuw installeren of upgraden van nog niet gepatchte AlmaLinux 9.7 en 10.1.<\/p>\n<h3>Belangrijke wijzigingen in AlmaLinux OS 9.8 \u201cOlive Jaguar\u201d<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Compilerpakketten zijn bijgewerkt.<\/strong> Er zijn toegevoegd <strong>LLVM Toolset 21.1.8<\/strong>, <strong>Rust Toolset 1.92.0<\/strong> en <strong>GCC Toolset 15<\/strong>. Dit breidt de beschikbare tools voor het bouwen van moderne applicaties uit zonder dat externe repositories nodig zijn.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Python 3.14 is toegevoegd.<\/strong> De nieuwe versie van Python wordt geleverd als een apart pakket, waardoor het parallel met systeemcomponenten kan worden gebruikt zonder de compatibiliteit van de basisversie van Enterprise Linux 9 te verstoren.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Nieuwe modulestromen voor MariaDB, PostgreSQL en Ruby zijn verschenen.<\/strong> In AlmaLinux 9.8 zijn modulestromen toegevoegd voor <strong>MariaDB 11.8<\/strong>, <strong>PostgreSQL 18<\/strong> en <strong>Ruby 4.0<\/strong>, en de stroom <strong>Node.js<\/strong> is bijgewerkt naar versie <strong>24<\/strong>. Deze componenten worden gebruikt voor tracing, profiling, diagnostiek van laag-niveau problemen en het analyseren van applicatiegedrag.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>De beveiligingsstack is versterkt.<\/strong> Uitbreidingen bijgewerkt. De instelling 'Enabled Add-ons Only' toegevoegd om alleen ingeschakelde add-ons in de lijst weer te geven. Verbeterde ondersteuning voor <strong>SELinux-policy 38.1.75<\/strong>, <strong>SSSD 2.9.8<\/strong>, <strong>OpenSSL 3.5.5<\/strong>, <strong>OpenSSH 9.9p1<\/strong>, <strong>crypto-policies 20260224<\/strong>, <strong>Keylime 7.12.1<\/strong> en <strong>GnuTLS 3.8.10<\/strong>. Dit betreft mandatorische toegangscontrolebeleid, cryptografische instellingen, SSH, authenticatie en externe attestatie.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Netwerkcomponenten zijn bijgewerkt.<\/strong> Het systeem bevat <strong>NetworkManager 1.54.3<\/strong> en <strong>iproute 6.17.0<\/strong>, wat de basisset van tools voor netwerkinrichting, routering en netwerkinterfacebeheer bijwerkt.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Containers en virtualisatie zijn bijgewerkt.<\/strong> AlmaLinux 9.8 bevat <strong>Podman 5.8.0<\/strong>, <strong>Buildah 1.43.0<\/strong>, <strong>libvirt 11.10.0<\/strong>, <strong>QEMU-KVM 10.1.0<\/strong> en <strong>skopeo 1.22.0<\/strong>. De wijzigingen hebben betrekking op SELinux, SSH, cryptografische beleidsregels, auditing, VPN\/IPsec en integriteitscontrole.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Netwerkt tools zijn bijgewerkt.<\/strong> AlmaLinux 10.2 wordt geleverd met <strong>NetworkManager 1.56.0<\/strong>, <strong>iproute 6.17.0<\/strong>, <strong>nftables 1.1.5<\/strong>, <strong>BIND 9.18.33-15<\/strong> en <strong>chrony 4.8<\/strong>. Dit werkt de basale netwerksubsystemen, DNS-servers, tijdsynchronisatie en configuratiehulpmiddelen voor pakketfiltering bij.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Containers en virtualisatie zijn bijgewerkt.<\/strong> De release bevat <strong>Podman 5.8.0<\/strong>, <strong>Buildah 1.43.0<\/strong>, <strong>skopeo 1.22.0<\/strong>, <strong>libvirt 11.10.0<\/strong> en <strong>QEMU-KVM 10.1.0<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Desktop en systeembestanden zijn bijgewerkt.<\/strong> AlmaLinux 10.2 heeft <strong>GNOME 49<\/strong>, evenals <strong>Git 2.52.0<\/strong>, <strong>Git-LFS 3.7.1<\/strong>, <strong>Samba 4.23.5<\/strong>, <strong>Mesa 25.2.7<\/strong>, <strong>PipeWire 1.4.9<\/strong>, <strong>Cockpit 356<\/strong>, <strong>cmake 3.31.8<\/strong> en <strong>sudo 1.9.17p2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Ondersteuning voor Btrfs is behouden.<\/strong> In tegenstelling tot de compatibele versie van RHEL, blijft AlmaLinux 10.2 ondersteuning bieden voor <strong>Btrfs<\/strong>, inclusief de mogelijkheid om op een Btrfs-partitie op te starten.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Ondersteuning voor x86_64_v2 is voortgezet.<\/strong> AlmaLinux 10 volgt de beslissing van Red Hat om x86_64-v3 als de primaire optimalisatieniveau te gebruiken, maar brengt tegelijkertijd een build uit. <strong>x86_64_v2<\/strong> voor oudere hardware. Voor gebruikers van deze architectuur bouwt het project ook EPEL-pakketten opnieuw.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Aangepaste i686-omgeving toegevoegd.<\/strong> AlmaLinux 10.2 heeft 32-bit gebruikerspakketten gekregen <strong>i686<\/strong>, bedoeld voor oudere software, CI-scripts en containerladingen. Er is geen apart 32-bits kernel of opstartinstallateur; pakketten worden gepubliceerd via vault en Docker-images kunnen worden uitgevoerd met &#8212;platform linux\/386.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Frame pointers zijn standaard ingeschakeld.<\/strong> Dit vereenvoudigt systeempreprofilering en real-time tracing, wat nuttig is voor prestatieoptimalisatie op servers en werkstations.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Ondersteuning voor SPICE is teruggekeerd.<\/strong> AlmaLinux 10.2 omvat opnieuw SPICE voor zowel server- als clienttoepassingen, wat belangrijk is voor sommige virtualisatiescenario's en remote toegang tot de grafische console.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>KVM voor IBM POWER is ingeschakeld.<\/strong> De KVM-ondersteuning in de virtualisatie-stack voor IBM POWER is nu volledig ingeschakeld, in plaats van in een prerelease-status zoals voorheen.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Firefox en Thunderbird worden geleverd als standaard RPM-pakketten.<\/strong> In de systeemrepository's van AlmaLinux 10.2 zijn deze applicaties beschikbaar als klassieke RPM's, en niet alleen in alternatieve leveringsformaten.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>CRB is standaard ingeschakeld.<\/strong> Repository <strong>CodeReady Builder<\/strong> is out-of-the-box geactiveerd, wat de installatie van bibliotheken en headerbestanden vergemakkelijkt die vaak nodig zijn voor softwarecompilatie.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>Ondersteuning voor oudere hardware is uitgebreid.<\/strong> In AlmaLinux 10.2 zijn PCI ID's voor een aantal opslag- en netwerkapparaten teruggebracht, die in upstream zijn uitgeschakeld: Adaptec, Dell PERC, HP Smart Array, Emulex, Broadcom MegaRAID, Mellanox ConnectX-2\/3, LSI SAS, QLogic Fibre Channel en QLogic iSCSI.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Voor het upgraden van een al ge\u00efnstalleerd systeem volstaat het om de standaardupgrade via dnf upgrade -y uit te voeren;
