The new version features a redesigned interface and recording engine, with the main change being the ability to prepare an initial configuration profile in advance: after flashing, the board can boot with the settings specified by the user, including network, locale, and SSH access. Release v2.0.0 was published on GitHub on June 6, 2026, and the official announcement of Armbian was made on June 7.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><noindex><\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/armbian\/imager\">Armbian Imager<\/a> is a free cross-platform program for installing Armbian OS on SBCs. The utility can select a board and image, download and unpack it, verify the SHA checksum, write the image, and then compare the written data with the original image. This is important for devices where installation occurs not only through the classic image writing to the card but also through USB flashing mode.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>New unified selection interface.<\/strong><br \/>\nThe old pop-up windows have been replaced with a single step-by-step screen: selecting the manufacturer, board, OS, and target drive is now integrated into a single flow. This makes the process closer to an installation wizard: the user sees the entire path from selecting an SBC to writing the image without navigating between disparate dialogs.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><strong>More informative image gallery.<\/strong><br \/>\nFor images, the build date, environment tags, and kernel branches are displayed, as well as a marker for already downloaded files. A separate filter for rolling\/trunk builds is provided with a warning before use.
