In Linux From Scratch zijn instructies opgenomen om een basis Linux-systeem vanaf nul op te bouwen, met behulp van de bronbestanden van de benodigde software. Daarnaast wordt de editie Beyond Linux From Scratch ontwikkeld, die de LFS-instructies aanvult met informatie over het bouwen en configureren van ongeveer 1000 softwarepakketten, die verschillende toepassingsgebieden dekken, van databases en serversystemen tot grafische omgevingen en mediaplayers. De release van BLFS 13.1 is gepland voor de komende dagen.      <\/p>\n<p>In Linux From Scratch 13.1 zijn 46 pakketten bijgewerkt, waaronder de Linux-kernel 7.1.8, Systemd 261.2, GCC 16.2.0, Glibc 2.44, Binutils 2.47, Coreutils 9.11, OpenSSL 4.0.1, Vim 9.2.1025, Perl 5.44.0, Util-linux 2.42.2. De wiskundige bibliotheek mpdecimal 4.0.1 is toegevoegd. De XML-Parser en intltool pakketten zijn verwijderd en verplaatst naar de BLFS-editie. Fouten in de opstartscripts zijn gecorrigeerd en redactionele werkzaamheden zijn uitgevoerd in de toelichtingen door het hele boek.           <\/p>\n<p>Naast LFS en BLFS zijn er eerder verschillende aanvullende boeken uitgebracht binnen het project:   <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00abAutomated Linux From Scratch\u00bb \u2014 een framework voor het automatiseren van de bouw van LFS-systemen en het beheer van pakketten;  <\/li>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00abCross Linux From Scratch\u00bb \u2014 een beschrijving van een cross-platform build van LFS-systemen, die de architecturen x86, x86_64, sparc, mips, PowerPC, alpha, hppa, arm ondersteunt;  <\/li>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00abHardened Linux From Scratch\u00bb \u2014 instructies voor het verbeteren van de beveiliging van LFS, het toepassen van extra patches en beperkingen;  <\/li>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00abLFS Hints\u00bb \u2014 een verzameling aanvullende tips met beschrijvingen van alternatieve oplossingen voor de stappen beschreven in LFS en BLFS.  <\/li>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00abMultilib Linux From Scratch\u00bb \u2014 instructies voor het installeren van Multilib voor het draaien van 32-bits programma's in 64-bits omgevingen.\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abGaming Linux From Scratch\u00bb \u2014 instructies voor het installeren van computer games en gerelateerde programma's, zoals Steam en Wine, in LFS.
