Vorig jaar introduceerde Microsoft kunstmatige intelligentie in PowerPoint. Dit was ge\u00efntegreerd in de tool Ideas om presentaties te verbeteren. Nu past het bedrijf de aanpassing<\/a><\/noindex> van Ideas toe in Microsoft Word, waarmee idee\u00ebn voor het verbeteren van teksten worden aangeboden.<\/p>\n

In tegenstelling tot het traditionele systeem voor het corrigeren van typfouten en onjuiste zinsconstructies, werkt het systeem Ideas op een andere manier. Het analyseert de tekst, de gebruikte woorden, hun lengte en de geschatte leestijd van het document. De dienst zal ook overeenkomende synoniemen voorstellen om de leesbaarheid van de tekst te verbeteren. Microsoft deelde deze veranderingen tijdens zijn ontwikkelaarsconferentie Build 2019 in Seattle.<\/p>\n

Het is vermeldenswaard dat tekstcorrectie geen nieuwe functie van deze aard is. Kortgeleden ontbrak automatische opslaan in de cloud OneDrive in Office-documenten, maar dat is nu ook beschikbaar. Bovendien, bij samenwerking aan een tekst, kan er om hulp van collega's worden gevraagd door gebruik te maken van «@». Als je @gebruikersnaam v\u00f3\u00f3r een tekstfragment schrijft, zal het systeem automatisch een e-mail naar deze gebruiker sturen en de tekst bijvoegen.<\/p>\n

Het is nog niet duidelijk wanneer de nieuwe functie beschikbaar zal zijn in de release, maar het is duidelijk dat deze eerst in de online service Office 365 zal verschijnen. Er wordt nog niets gezegd over de mogelijkheid om het toe te voegen aan de lokale versies van Office. En dat is logisch, gezien het feit dat Microsoft al zijn applicaties en zelfs besturingssystemen actief naar cloudsystemen migreert. Vanuit een zakelijk perspectief is dat gerechtvaardigd: het is veel beter om regelmatig betalingen te ontvangen en geen angst te hebben voor piraterij dan om applicaties voor besturingssystemen uit te brengen en daar geld op verloren te laten gaan.<\/p>\n
