Alle originele bijdragen die binnen de distributie zijn gemaakt, worden verspreid onder de GPL-licentie en zijn beschikbaar via het openbare <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/git.kali.org\/gitweb\/\">Git-repository<\/a><\/noindex>. Voor download is een volledige <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/cdimage.kali.org\/kali-2019.2\/\">iso-afbeelding<\/a><\/noindex> (3.2 GB) en een verkorte afbeelding (929 MB) beschikbaar. Bouwsels zijn beschikbaar voor de architecturen x86, x86_64, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/offensive-security\/kali-arm-build-scripts\">ARM<\/a><\/noindex> (armhf en armel, Raspberry Pi, Banana Pi, ARM Chromebook, Odroid). Naast de basisversie met GNOME en een verkorte versie zijn er opties met Xfce, KDE, MATE, LXDE en Enlightenment e17.<\/p>\n<p>Kali bevat een van de meest uitgebreide selectie van tools voor specialisten op het gebied van computerbeveiliging: van middelen voor het testen van webapplicaties en het binnendringen in draadloze netwerken, tot programma's voor het uitlezen van gegevens van identiteits-RFID-chips. De set omvat een collectie exploits en meer dan 300 gespecialiseerde tools voor beveiligingstests, zoals Aircrack, Maltego, SAINT, Kismet, Bluebugger, Btcrack, Btscanner, Nmap, p0f. Een nieuwe versie is samengesteld <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/nethunter.com\/\">NetHunter 2019.2<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=43642\">omgevingen<\/a><\/noindex> voor mobiele apparaten op het Android-platform met een set tools voor het testen van systemen op kwetsbaarheden. Onder andere is het mogelijk om aanvallen uit te voeren die specifiek zijn voor mobiele apparaten, bijvoorbeeld via de emulatie van USB-apparaten (<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=40309\">BadUSB en HID Keyboard<\/a><\/noindex> &#8212; emulatie van een netwerken USB-adapter die gebruikt kan worden voor MITM-aanvallen, of een USB-toetsenbord dat karakters vervangt) en het cre\u00ebren van valse toegangspunten (\"<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/sensepost\/mana\">MANA Evil Access Point<\/a><\/noindex>). NetHunter wordt ge\u00efnstalleerd in de standaardomgeving van het Android-platform in de vorm van een chroot-image, waarin een speciaal aangepaste versie van Kali Linux draait. <\/p>\n<p>In de nieuwe versie van NetHunter is het aantal ondersteunde apparaten aanzienlijk uitgebreid.
