Met behulp van JPype kunnen specifieke Java-bibliotheken vanuit Python worden gebruikt, waardoor hybride applicaties kunnen worden gemaakt die Java- en Python-code combineren. De projectcode wordt verspreid onder de Apache 2.0-licentie.<\/p>\n<p>In tegenstelling tot Jython wordt de integratie met Java niet bereikt door een variant van Python voor de JVM te cre\u00ebren, maar door interactie op het niveau van beide virtuele machines, met gebruik van gedeeld geheugen. De voorgestelde aanpak maakt niet alleen een goede prestaties mogelijk, maar biedt ook toegang tot alle CPython- en Java-bibliotheken. In deze nieuwe release is de code van de hoofdmodule volledig herschreven, is ondersteuning toegevoegd voor<br \/>\nunattached-threads, beveiliging is verbeterd, is de vertaling van Java-excepties
