De bronbestanden van het project <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/tesseract-ocr\/tesseract\">worden verspreid<\/a><\/noindex> onder de Apache 2.0-licentie.<\/p>\n<p> Tesseract bevat een consoletool en de libtesseract-bibliotheek voor het integreren van tekstherkenningsfuncties in andere applicaties. Er worden twee herkenningsengines aangeboden: de klassieke, die tekst herkent op basis van afzonderlijke letterpatronen, en een nieuwe, gebaseerd op het gebruik van een machine learning-systeem met een recurrentneuraal netwerk (LSTM), geoptimaliseerd voor het herkennen van volledige zinnen en waardoor een aanzienlijke toename in nauwkeurigheid mogelijk is. Voorgetrainde modellen zijn gepost voor <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/tesseract-ocr\/tesseract\/wiki\/Data-Files\">123 talen<\/a><\/noindex>. Voor prestatieoptimalisatie worden modules aangeboden die gebruikmaken van OpenMP en SIMD-instructies AVX2, AVX of SSE4.1. <\/p>\n<p>Belangrijkste <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/tesseract-ocr\/tesseract\/wiki\/ReleaseNotes\">verbeteringen<\/a><\/noindex> in Tesseract 4.1:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Optie voor uitvoer in XML-formaat toegevoegd <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/ALTO_(XML)\">ALTO<\/a><\/noindex> (Geanalyseerde lay-out en tekstobject).
