De bibliotheek biedt middelen zoals hardwareversneld 2D- en 3D-grafische uitvoer, invoerverwerking, geluidsweergave, 3D-weergave via OpenGL\/OpenGL ES en tal van andere bijbehorende operaties. De bibliotheek is geschreven in de programmeertaal C en wordt verspreid onder de zlib-licentie. Voor het gebruik van de mogelijkheden van SDL in projecten in verschillende programmeertalen zijn er bindingen beschikbaar.<\/p>\n<p>In de nieuwe release:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> De driver voor gebruik met de displayserver Mir is verwijderd ten gunste van de driver voor gebruik via Wayland;\n<li class=\"l\"> SDL_RW* macro's zijn omgezet in een aparte set functies;\n<li class=\"l\"> Functies SDL_SIMDGetAlignment(), SDL_SIMDAlloc() en SDL_SIMDFree() zijn toegevoegd voor geheugentoewijzing voor SIMD-bewerkingen;\n<li class=\"l\"> Functies SDL_RenderDrawPointF(), SDL_RenderDrawPointsF(), SDL_RenderDrawLineF(), SDL_RenderDrawLinesF(), SDL_RenderDrawRectF(), SDL_RenderDrawRectsF(), SDL_RenderFillRectF(), SDL_RenderFillRectsF(), SDL_RenderCopyF() en SDL_RenderCopyExF() zijn toegevoegd voor het gebruik van floating-point berekeningen in de SDL-teken-API;\n<li class=\"l\"> De functie SDL_GetTouchDeviceType() is toegevoegd voor het bepalen van het type aanraakapparaat (touchpad of aanraakscherm met relatieve of absolute co\u00f6rdinaten);\n<li class=\"l\"> De SDL-teken-API is standaard overgeschakeld naar batched rendering, wat hogere prestaties mogelijk maakt. Voor het beheren van het gebruik van batchmodus is de optie SDL_HINT_RENDER_BATCHING toegevoegd;\n<li class=\"l\"> Om het uitvoeren van gequeueerde batchcommando's af te dwingen, is de aanroep SDL_RenderFlush() toegevoegd, wat nuttig kan zijn bij het combineren van rendering via SDL en directe rendering;\n<li class=\"l\">  De optie SDL_HINT_EVENT_LOGGING is toegevoegd voor het inschakelen van het loggen van SDL-gebeurtenissen voor debugdoeleinden;\n<li class=\"l\">  De optie SDL_HINT_GAMECONTROLLERCONFIG_FILE is toegevoegd om de bestandsnaam voor de lay-out van gamecontrollers op te geven;\n<li class=\"l\">  De optie SDL_HINT_MOUSE_TOUCH_EVENTS is toegevoegd voor het beheer van de synthese van aanraakevenementen op basis van muisgebeurtenissen;\n<li class=\"l\"> De verwerking van ongeldig opgemaakte WAVE- en BMP-bestanden is verbeterd om potenti\u00eble problemen te blokkeren; <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=51017\">kwetsbaarheden<\/a><\/noindex>;\n<li class=\"l\"> Voor iOS 13 en tvOS 13 is ondersteuning toegevoegd voor draadloze Xbox- en PS4-controllers, evenals ondersteuning voor tekstinvoer met Bluetooth-toetselaturen.\n<li class=\"l\"> Voor Android is een laag-latentie geluidsverwerkingsmodus gerealiseerd, gebruikmakend van OpenSL ES. Een optie SDL_HINT_ANDROID_BLOCK_ON_PAUSE is toegevoegd voor het beheer van de blokkering van de gebeurtenislus bij het pauzeren van de applicatie.\n<\/ul>\n<p><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\"
