And now, the software giant is one step closer to this: Microsoft <noindex>heeft uitgebracht</noindex> de openbare bètaversie van hun nieuwe Edge-browser. For instance, this includes improvements in power consumption. Although initially this was only about Chrome, ultimately these features will appear in all Chromium-based browsers.

Edge also includes several features that are not available in the Google browser, including:

The ability to convert text to speech, allowing users to read website content;

Blocking tracking from resources;

Customization options for new tabs;

Microsoft Edge Insider extension store for extensions (Google Chrome Web Store is also supported);

Compatibility mode with Internet Explorer 11.

According to the company, the beta version is the last step before the release, although it is not expected to be available very soon. The final build is expected to appear no earlier than the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020. Beta versions will be updated every 6 weeks.

By the way, another new feature for Chrome and Edge browsers <noindex>is geworden</noindex> is the support for global media control buttons.
