De projectcode is geschreven in C en <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/gitlab.com\/fetchmail\/fetchmail\/\">wordt verspreid<\/a><\/noindex> onder de GPLv2-licentie. De ondersteuning voor de tak fetchmail 6.3.X is volledig be\u00ebindigd.<\/p>\n<p>Onder <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/fetchmail\/files\/branch_6.4\/\">wijzigingen<\/a><\/noindex>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor TLS 1.1, 1.2 en 1.3 toegevoegd (\u2014sslproto {tls1.1+|tls1.2+|tls1.3+}). De opbouw met OpenSSL is standaard ingeschakeld (minimaal versie 1.0.2 vereist, en voor TLSv1.3 1.1.1). Ondersteuning voor SSLv2 is stopgezet. Standaard wordt in STLS\/STARTTLS TLSv1.1 opgegeven in plaats van SSLv3 en TLSv1.0. Voor terugkeer naar SSLv3 is een OpenSSL-versie met ondersteuning voor SSLv3 vereist, en moet fetchmail worden gestart met de vlag \u00ab\u2014sslproto ssl3+\u00bb.\n<li class=\"l\"> Standaard is de modus voor het controleren van SSL-certificaten ingeschakeld (\u2014sslcertck). Om de controle uit te schakelen, moet nu expliciet de optie \u00ab\u2014nosslcertck\u00bb worden opgegeven;\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor zeer oude C-compilers is be\u00ebindigd. Voor de build is nu een compiler nodig die de in 2002 uitgebrachte standaard SUSv3 (Single Unix Specification v3, een subset van POSIX.1-2001 met XSI-extensies) ondersteunt;\n<li class=\"l\"> De effici\u00ebntie van het volgen van de UID (modus \u00ab\u2014keep UID\u00bb) is verbeterd bij het distribueren van berichten uit de mailbox via POP3;\n<li class=\"l\"> Tal van verbeteringen zijn aangebracht in verband met de ondersteuning van versleutelde verbindingen;\n<li class=\"l\"> Een kwetsbaarheid is verholpen, die zou kunnen leiden tot een buffer overflow in de authenticatiecode via GSSAPI bij manipulaties met gebruikersnamen van meer dan 6000 tekens.\n<\/ul>\n<p>Addition: <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/fetchmail\/files\/branch_6.4\/\">beschikbaar is<\/a><\/noindex> release 6.4.1 met de correctie van twee regressies (een onvolledige correctie van de Debian-fout 941129 leidde tot het onvermogen om fetchmail-configuratiebestanden in sommige gevallen te vinden en een probleem met _FORTIFY_SOURCE bij PATH_MAX groter dan het minimale
