Mir blijft gewild in projecten van Canonical en wordt nu gepositioneerd als oplossing voor embedded devices en het internet der dingen (IoT). Mir kan als compositieserver voor Wayland worden gebruikt, wat het mogelijk maakt om in omgevingen op basis van Mir elke applicatie te draaien die Wayland gebruikt (bijvoorbeeld gebouwd met GTK3\/4, Qt5 of SDL2). Installatiepakketten zijn beschikbaar voor Ubuntu 16.04\/18.04\/18.10\/19.04 (<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~mir-team\/+archive\/ubuntu\/release\">PPA<\/a><\/noindex>) en <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/copr.fedorainfracloud.org\/coprs\/ngompa\/mir-prerel-fedora\/\">Fedora 29\/30<\/a><\/noindex>. Projectcode <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/MirServer\/mir\">wordt verspreid<\/a><\/noindex> onder GPLv2-licentie.<\/p>\n<p> Bij de wijzigingen valt vooral de uitbreiding van de MirAL-laag (Mir Abstraction Layer) op, die kan worden gebruikt om directe oproepen naar de Mir-server te vermijden en toegang tot de ABI te abstraheren via de bibliotheek libmiral. In MirAL is ondersteuning toegevoegd voor de eigenschap application_id, de mogelijkheid om vensters bij te snijden volgens de grenzen van een opgegeven gebied is gerealiseerd en er is ondersteuning geboden voor servers gebaseerd op mir om omgevingsvariabelen voor het starten van clients in te stellen. <\/p>\n<p>Informatie over de ondersteunde extensies EGL en OpenGL wordt gelogd. Voor Wayland wordt de derde versie van het xdg-protocol gebruikt om problemen met Xwayland op te lossen.
