Uitgave van ncurses 6.2 is op het niveau van de bronteksten compatibel met de takken ncurses 5.x en 6.0, maar breidt de ABI uit. <\/p>\n<p>Bij de innovaties is de implementatie van de extensies O_EDGE_INSERT_STAY en O_INPUT_FIELD opmerkelijk, waarmee vertraging kan worden toegevoegd bij het verplaatsen van de cursor tussen velden en dynamische samentrekking van velden die niet binnen de huidige afmetingen passen, mogelijk wordt gemaakt. Ook zijn de functies exit_curses en exit_terminfo toegevoegd voor het volgen van lekken, en curses_trace ter vervanging van trace(). Er zijn prestatieoptimalisaties doorgevoerd en de decodering van muisgebeurtenissen is verbeterd. Handlers voor terminalemulators zoals alacritty, domterm, kitty, mintty, mintty-direct, ms-terminal,<br \/>\n     n7900, nsterm-build309, nsterm-direct, screen5, ti703, ti707, vscode-direct,
