In het onderzoek namen gebruikers deel die monsters van hardware hebben ge\u00fcpload met behulp van het programma hw-probe. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/linuxhw\/Trends\">Onderzoeksresultaten<\/a><\/noindex> correleren met de resultaten van een jaar geleden <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ubuntu.com\/desktop\/statistics\">Ubuntu Gebruikersstatistieken<\/a><\/noindex> van Canonical. <\/p>\n<p>Ondanks dat de statistieken van Canonical en Linux-Hardware.org voor de meeste parameters binnen 10 procent verschillen, zijn er voor bepaalde parameters significante afwijkingen. Zo was volgens Linux-Hardware.org het aantal 32-bits installaties van Ubuntu 8% (tegenover 2% bij Canonical), het gebruik van \u00e9\u00e9n GPU in 80% van de gevallen (tegenover 94% bij Canonical) en de PPI-waarde van gebruikte monitors was in 72% van de gevallen minder dan 120 (tegenover 33% bij Canonical). <\/p>\n<p>Een belangrijk verschil tussen Linux-Hardware.org en het verslag van Canonical is de mogelijkheid om gedetailleerde specificaties van elke computer die deelneemt aan de statistiekverzameling te bekijken, evenals een grotere hoeveelheid geregistreerde hardware-\/OS-parameters en de ondersteuning van alle Linux-distributies zonder uitzondering. Op de pagina met elke statistiek zijn er zowel cirkeldiagrammen als lijndiagrammen in de tijd \u2014 je kunt zien hoe de voorkeuren van gebruikers in de tijd veranderen. Maar de lijndiagrammen zijn afhankelijk van de groei van de populariteit van het project zelf, dus je moet eerder op de verhouding van waarden letten, en niet op hun absolute groei.
