De bibliotheek kan worden gebruikt in verschillende video-afspelers, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.xine-project.org\/releases\">waaronder<\/a><\/noindex> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/xine\/files\/xine-ui\/\">Xine-UI<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/sourceforge.net\/projects\/xine\/files\/gxine\/\">gxine<\/a><\/noindex>, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/kaffeine.sourceforge.net\/\">kaffeine<\/a><\/noindex>. <\/p>\n<p>Xine <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.xine-project.org\/features\">wordt ondersteund<\/a><\/noindex> de werking in multithreaded modus, ondersteunt een groot aantal populaire en minder bekende indelingen en codecs, en kan zowel lokale inhoud als via het netwerk verzonden multimediastromen verwerken. De modulaire architectuur maakt het gemakkelijk om de functionaliteit via plug-ins uit te breiden.
