Het programma ondersteunt een groot aantal RAW-bestandsformaten, waaronder die van camera's met Foveon- en X-Trans-sensoren, en kan ook werken met de Adobe DNG-standaard en met JPEG-, PNG- en TIFF-formaten (tot 32 bit per kanaal). De projectcode is geschreven in C++ met behulp van GTK+ en  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Beep6581\/RawTherapee\">wordt verspreid<\/a><\/noindex> onder GPLv3-licentie.<\/p>\n<p>RawTherapee biedt een set tools voor het corrigeren van kleurnauwkeurigheid, het aanpassen van witbalans, helderheid en contrast, evenals functies voor het automatisch verbeteren van beeldkwaliteit en het verminderen van ruis. Er zijn meerdere algoritmen ge\u00efmplementeerd voor het normaliseren van beeldkwaliteit, het aanpassen van belichting, het onderdrukken van ruis, het versterken van details, het bestrijden van ongewenste schaduwen, het corrigeren van kleurafwijkingen en perspectief, het automatisch verwijderen van dode pixels, het aanpassen van belichting, het verhogen van scherpte, en het verwijderen van krassen en stofsporen.<\/p>\n<p>In <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/rawtherapee.com\/downloads\/5.8\/\">in de nieuwe release<\/a><\/noindex>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Nieuwe tool &#171;Scherpteherstel&#187;, waarmee automatisch details kunnen worden hersteld die zijn verloren door de vervaging van het beeld;\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/rawtherapee.com\/downloads\/5.8\/rt58_amanita_muscaria_capture_sharpening.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Release van de fotobewerkingssoftware RawTherapee 5.8\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/180547d5e64259958c182ec89ee80122.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor RAW-afbeeldingen in het CR3-formaat, gebruikt door Canon-camera's, is toegevoegd.
