Release 1.20 werd vrijwel onmiddellijk gevormd na <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lists.freedesktop.org\/archives\/wayland-devel\/2020-February\/041267.html\">1.19<\/a><\/noindex>, vanwege het niet opnemen van enkele bestanden (README.md, GOVERNANCE.md, MEMBERS.md) in het archief. <\/p>\n<p>In de nieuwe versie is het protocol <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/wayland-project\/wayland-protocols\/tree\/master\/stable\/xdg-shell\">xdg-shell<\/a><\/noindex>, waarin de mogelijkheid is toegevoegd om de positie van reeds gekoppelde popup-dialogen te wijzigen. In de protocollen &#171;presentation time&#187; en xdg-shell zijn nieuwe attributen enum en bitfield toegevoegd. Een document is toegevoegd aan de samenstelling.<br \/>\n<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/wayland-project\/wayland-protocols\/blob\/master\/GOVERNANCE.md\">GOVERNANCE.md<\/a><\/noindex>, dat de processen beschrijft voor het cre\u00ebren van nieuwe Wayland-protocollen en het bijwerken van bestaande in de set wayland-protocols. Kleine aanvullingen zijn gedaan aan bestaande protocollen, de documentatie is verbeterd en ontdekte fouten zijn verholpen.<\/p>\n<p>Momenteel bevat wayland-protocols de volgende stabiele protocollen, die terugwaartse compatibiliteit waarborgen:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00abviewporter\u00bb \u2014 stelt de klant in staat om schalen en het afsnijden van randen van het oppervlak aan de serverzijde uit te voeren.\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00abpresentation time\u00bb \u2014 zorgt voor de weergave van video.\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\"> \u00abxdg-shell\u00bb \u2014 interface voor het maken en interactie met oppervlakken als vensters, waardoor ze over het scherm kunnen worden verschoven, geminimaliseerd, vergroot, van grootte kunnen worden veranderd, enzovoort.\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Onstabiele protocollen waarvan de ontwikkeling nog niet is voltooid en die geen garantie bieden voor compatibiliteit met eerdere versies:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abfullscreen-shell\u00bb \u2014 beheert het werken in de volledige schermmodus;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abinput-method\u00bb \u2014 verwerkt invoermethoden;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abidle-inhibit\u00bb \u2014 blokkeert de activering van de screensaver;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abinput-timestamps\u00bb \u2014 tijdstempels voor invoerevenementen;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00ablinux-dmabuf\u00bb \u2014 maakt het delen van meerdere videokaarten mogelijk met behulp van de DMABuff-technologie;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abtext-input\u00bb \u2014 organisatie van tekstinvoer;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abpointer-gestures\u00bb \u2014 beheer vanaf aanraakschermen;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abrelative pointer events\u00bb \u2014 relatieve aanwijzersgebeurtenissen;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abpointer constraints\u00bb \u2014 beperkingen voor aanwijzers (blokkering);\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abtablet\u00bb \u2014 ondersteuning voor invoer vanaf tablets.\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abxdg-foreign\u00bb \u2014 interface voor interactie met oppervlakken van een 'buren' client;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abxdg-decoration\u00bb \u2014 renderen van vensterdecoraties aan de serverzijde;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abxdg-output\u00bb \u2014 extra informatie over de video-uitgang (gebruikt voor gebroken schaling);\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\">  \u00abxwayland-keyboard-grab\u00bb \u2014 de invoer in XWayland-applicaties vastleggen.\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\"> primary-selection \u2014 werkt, vergelijkbaar met X11, met de primaire klembord (primary selection), waarbij informatie meestal wordt ingevoegd met de middelste muisknop;\n<\/li>\n<li class=\"l\"> linux-explicit-synchronization
