De gebruikersinterface is gebaseerd op de mediaspeler Kodi. Voor het downloaden <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/libreelec.tv\/downloads\/\">poorten voorbereid<\/a><\/noindex> Afbeeldingen voor gebruik met USB-opslag of SD-kaarten (32- en 64-bits x86, Raspberry Pi 1\/2\/3\/4, verschillende apparaten op Rockchip en Amlogic chips). In de nieuwe versie is er een sectie toegevoegd aan de configurator voor het instellen van de VPN WireGuard en is de ondersteuning voor Raspberry Pi 4 verbeterd (verhoogde prestaties en outputkwaliteit in de 1080p en 4K modus).<\/p>\n<p>Met LibreELEC kun je elke computer omtoveren tot een mediacenter, waarmee je net zo eenvoudig kunt werken als met een dvd-speler of settopbox. Het belangrijkste principe van de distributie is 'alles werkt gewoon', voor een volledig werkende omgeving is het voldoende om LibreELEC vanaf een Flash-schijf te downloaden. De gebruiker hoeft zich geen zorgen te maken over het up-to-date houden van het systeem \u2014 in de distributie wordt een systeem voor automatische updates gebruikt, dat wordt geactiveerd bij verbinding met het wereldwijde netwerk. Er is ook de mogelijkheid om de functionaliteit van de distributie uit te breiden via een systeem van extensies, die worden ge\u00efnstalleerd vanuit een aparte repository gelianceerd door de ontwikkelaars van het project. <\/p>\n<p>Ter herinnering: LibreELEC is ontstaan uit een conflict tussen de maintainer van OpenELEC en een grote groep ontwikkelaars. De distributie maakt geen gebruik van de pakketbasis van andere distributies en is gebaseerd op <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/LibreELEC\">eigen ontwikkelingen<\/a><\/noindex>. Naast de standaardfunctionaliteiten van Kodi biedt de distributie een aantal extra functies, gericht op het maximaliseren van gebruiksgemak. Zo is er een speciale configuratie-add-on ontwikkeld waarmee netwerkverbindingen kunnen worden ingesteld, parameters voor LCD-schermen kunnen worden beheerd, en de automatische installatie van updates kan worden ingeschakeld of uitgeschakeld. De distributie ondersteunt mogelijkheden zoals het gebruik van een afstandsbediening (zowel via infrarood als via Bluetooth), het delen van bestanden (met een ingebouwde Samba-server), een ingebouwde
