De geringe belangstelling van de gemeenschap en de drukke werkzaamheden aan TrueNAS hebben echter geleid tot de stopzetting van het project. De eerder op TrueOS gebaseerde distributie Trident is al <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=52374\">is overgestapt<\/a><\/noindex> overgestapt op Void Linux.
