Deelnemers van OIN verplichten zich om geen patentclaims in te dienen en verlenen kosteloos toestemming voor het gebruik van gepatenteerde technologie\u00ebn in projecten die verband houden met het Linux-ecosysteem. Huawei heeft een aanzienlijk aantal patenten op het gebied van communicatie, cloudtechnologie, slimme apparaten en elektronica. <\/p>\n<p>Het OIN omvat meer dan 3200 bedrijven, gemeenschappen en organisaties die een licentieovereenkomst voor het delen van patenten hebben getekend. Onder de belangrijkste deelnemers van OIN, die bijdragen aan de vorming van een beschermde patentpool voor Linux, zijn bedrijven zoals Google, IBM, NEC, Toyota, Renault, SUSE, Philips, Red Hat, Alibaba, HP, AT&amp;T, Juniper, Facebook, Cisco, Casio, Fujitsu, Sony en Microsoft. De bedrijven die de overeenkomst hebben ondertekend, krijgen toegang tot de patenten die OIN in beheer heeft, in ruil voor de verplichting om geen rechtsvorderingen aan te spannen voor het gebruik van technologie\u00ebn die in het Linux-ecosysteem worden toegepast. Dit geldt ook voor Microsoft in het kader van hun toetreding tot OIN. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/azure.microsoft.com\/en-us\/blog\/microsoft-joins-open-invention-network-to-help-protect-linux-and-open-source\/\">droeg<\/a><\/noindex> dat de deelnemers aan OIN het recht geeft om meer dan 60.000 van hun patenten te gebruiken, met de verplichting deze niet tegen Linux en open-source software te gebruiken.<\/p>\n<p>De overeenkomst tussen de deelnemers van OIN is alleen van toepassing op componenten van distributies die onder de definitie van een Linux-systeem vallen (\"Linux-systeem\"). Op dit moment <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.openinventionnetwork.com\/joining-oin\/linux-system\/\">de lijst<\/a><\/noindex> bevat 2873 pakketten, waaronder de Linux-kernel, het Android-platform, KVM, Git, nginx, CMake, PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, Lua, OpenJDK, WebKit, KDE, GNOME, QEMU, Firefox, LibreOffice, Qt, systemd, X.Org, Wayland, enzovoort. Naast de verplichtingen van niet-aanval is er binnen OIN een patentpool gevormd, waarin de patenten die door de deelnemers worden verworven of kosteloos worden overgedragen, gerelateerd aan Linux. <\/p>\n<p>De patentpool van OIN omvat meer dan 1300 patenten. Ook in het bezit van OIN <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=30810\">bevindt zich<\/a><\/noindex> een groep patenten in handen, waar enkele van de eerste vermeldingen van technologie\u00ebn voor dynamische webinhoud in figureren, die de opkomst van systemen zoals ASP van Microsoft, JSP van Sun\/Oracle en PHP hebben voorafgegaan. Een andere belangrijke bijdrage is de <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=23583\">verwerving<\/a><\/noindex> met 22 patenten die eerder aan het consortium AST waren verkocht, als patenten die betrekking hebben op 'open source' producten.
