Regolith is gebaseerd op GNOME sessiebeheer en een windowmanager <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/i3wm.org\/\">i3<\/a><\/noindex>. De ontwikkelingen van het project <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/regolith-linux\">worden verspreid<\/a><\/noindex> onder GPLv3-licentie. Voor download <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/regolith-linux.org\/download\/\">voorbereid<\/a><\/noindex> zoals een kant-en-klare <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/regolith-linux\/regolith-desktop\/releases\/tag\/R1.4\">iso-afbeelding<\/a><\/noindex> Ubuntu 20.04 met de vooraf ge\u00efnstalleerde Regolith, alsook <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/launchpad.net\/~regolith-linux\">PPA-repositories<\/a><\/noindex> voor Ubuntu 18.04 en 20.04.<\/p>\n<p>Het project positioneert zich als een moderne desktopomgeving, ontwikkeld voor een snellere uitvoering van typische taken door middel van optimalisatie van werkprocessen en het elimineren van onnodige rommel. Het doel is om een functionele, maar minimalistische interface te bieden die kan worden aangepast en uitgebreid afhankelijk van de voorkeuren van de gebruiker. Regolith kan interessant zijn voor beginners die gewend zijn aan traditionele venstersystemen, maar die nieuwe methodes van tegelindeling willen uitproberen.<\/p>\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/regolith-linux.org\/regolith-screenshot-intro.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Lancering van de Regolith 1.4 desktop\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/7fc4e5de32e96e409b093dff02a02cdb.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Kenmerken van Regolith:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor sneltoetsen zoals in de windowmanager i3wm voor het beheren van een tegellijst (tile) vensterindeling.<br \/>\n<center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/regolith-linux.org\/screenshot-terminals.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Lancering van de Regolith 1.4 desktop\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/04\/f5d300aeec54a5123d0fafc0b53fe7af.png\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<li class=\"l\"> Voor het beheren van vensters wordt gebruikgemaakt van <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/Airblader\/i3\">i3-gaps<\/a><\/noindex>, een uitgebreide fork van i3wm. De panel is gebouwd met i3bar, en voor het starten van automatiseringsscripts wordt i3xrocks gebruikt op basis van i3blocks.\n<li class=\"l\"> Sessiebeheer is gebaseerd op de sessiemanager van gnome-flashback en gdm3. Ontwikkelingen van GNOME Flashback zijn ook gebruikt om het beheer van het systeem, de interface-instellingen, het automatisch monteren van opslagapparaten en het beheren van draadloze netwerkverbindingen te vereenvoudigen. De lijst met applicaties kan op elk moment worden bekeken met de toetsencombinatie super+space.
