GitLab werd ook overwogen als optie, maar de keuze voor GitHub werd gemotiveerd door het feit dat deze service gebruikelijker is voor de belangrijkste ontwikkelaars, nieuwkomers en externe deelnemers.<\/p>\n<p>De raad van bestuur <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/mail.python.org\/pipermail\/python-dev\/2019-May\/157399.html\">keurde goed<\/a><\/noindex> voert de migratie uit. Momenteel is de fase van het ondervragen van deelnemers van start gegaan, waarna op 12 juni een definitieve beslissing over de overstap naar het nieuwe systeem voor het volgen van fouten zal worden genomen. De overstap begint op 22 juni. De systemen voor het volgen van fouten van alle andere projecten van de Python Software Foundation, behalve CPython, zijn al overgezet naar GitHub. <\/p>\n<p>De huidig gebruikte service bugs.python.org, gebaseerd op het platform <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/roundup.sourceforge.net\/\">Roundup<\/a><\/noindex>, is verouderd, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.python.org\/dev\/peps\/pep-0581\/\">voldoet niet<\/a><\/noindex> aan alle eisen van de ontwikkelaars, loopt aanzienlijk achter qua functionaliteit bij GitHub Issues, kost ontwikkelaars tijd voor onderhoud, is afhankelijk van Mercurial, is onwennig voor nieuwkomers, ondersteunt geen REST API voor interactie met externe systemen, ondersteunt geen continue integratie en bots, onthult de e-mailadressen van gebruikers, en heeft problemen bij het aanmaken van accounts. Verder kan worden opgemerkt dat bugs.python.org, net als bugs.php.net, is gehost op IP-adressen, <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/wiki.opennet.ru\/BlockedRKN\">die vallen<\/a><\/noindex> onder <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/isitblockedinrussia.com\/?host=bugs.python.org\">blokkering<\/a><\/noindex> de Russische toezichthouder Roskomnadzor.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><a
