Ter bevestiging van deze woorden is er een screenshot gepubliceerd dat de werking demonstreert. De bereidheid van de patches voor de OpenBSD-kernel is eveneens bevestigd door Jason Donenfeld, de auteur van WireGuard, in <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lists.zx2c4.com\/pipermail\/wireguard\/2020-May\/005415.html\">de aankondiging<\/a><\/noindex> updates van de wireguard-tools. <\/p>\n<p><center><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/pbs.twimg.com\/media\/EXs8PQtWkAAXMg7?format=jpg&#038;name=medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"De interne implementatie van WireGuard voor OpenBSD is aangekondigd.\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/e0645800893889eb4f76c9d837d0fb6c.jpg\" style=\"display:block;margin: 0 auto;\" \/><\/a><\/noindex><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Op dit moment zijn er alleen <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.zx2c4.com\/wireguard-openbsd\/\">externe patches<\/a><\/noindex>, echter beloven de auteurs binnenkort hun definitieve versie naar de nieuwsbrief van OpenBSD-ontwikkelaars te sturen. De WireGuard-code voor de OpenBSD-kernel bevat 3322 regels, wat minder is dan de implementatie voor de Linux-kernel. Er wordt gemeld dat patches voor de OpenBSD-kernel gepland zijn om binnen een week te worden verzonden. Voor de configuratie van een tunnel in OpenBSD zal de gebruikelijke interface wg en 'ifconfig wg0 create' worden gebruikt.<\/p>\n<p>Naast de wijzigingen die niet met OpenBSD-ondersteuning te maken hebben, is opvallend dat de wg-quick-tool ondersteuning heeft gekregen voor domeinen die onder de 'dns search'-masker in resolv.conf vallen. Voor Android is ondersteuning toegevoegd voor een witte lijst van applicaties naast de zwarte lijst. Voor systemd is de service wg-quick.target toegevoegd voor het opnieuw opstarten en beheren van wg-quick.
