De nieuwe tak is opmerkelijk door de overstap naar een pakkettenbasis <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=51041\">Debian 10 &#171;Buster&#187;<\/a><\/noindex>. Voor download <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/files.devuan.org\/devuan_beowulf\/\">poorten voorbereid<\/a><\/noindex> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/files.devuan.org\/devuan_beowulf\/desktop-live\/\">Live-builds<\/a><\/noindex> en installaties <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/files.devuan.org\/devuan_beowulf\/installer-iso\/\">iso-afbeeldingen<\/a><\/noindex>  voor de architecturen AMD64, i386 en <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/arm-files.devuan.org\/\">ARM<\/a><\/noindex> (armel, armhf en arm64). Specifieke voor Devuan pakketten zijn beschikbaar via de repository. <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/packages.devuan.org\/devuan\/\">packages.devuan.org<\/a><\/noindex>. <\/p>\n<p>In het kader van het project zijn er ongeveer 400 Debian-pakketten aangepast, die zijn gemodificeerd om de afhankelijkheid van systemd te verwijderen, evenals rebranding of aanpassing aan de specifieke infrastructuur van Devuan. Twee pakketten (devuan-baseconf, jenkins-debian-glue-buildenv-devuan)<br \/>\nzijn alleen beschikbaar in Devuan en hebben betrekking op de configuratie van de repositories en de werking van het bouwsysteem. Verder is Devuan volledig compatibel met Debian en kan het worden gebruikt als basis voor het maken van gespecialiseerde Debian-builds zonder systemd.<\/p>\n<p>De standaard desktop is gebaseerd op Xfce en de display manager Slim. Optioneel zijn KDE, MATE, Cinnamon en LXQt beschikbaar voor installatie. In plaats van systemd wordt een klassieke initialisatiesysteem <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/packages.devuan.org\/devuan\/pool\/main\/s\/sysvinit\/\">SysVinit<\/a><\/noindex>. Optioneel <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.devuan.org\/dev1fanboy\/Upgrade-Install-Devuan\/wikis\/Devuan-without-dbus\">is er<\/a><\/noindex> een modus zonder D-Bus, waarmee minimalistische desktopconfiguraties kunnen worden gemaakt op basis van windowmanagers zoals blackbox, fluxbox, fvwm, fvwm-crystal en openbox. Voor netwerkconfiguratie is er een optie voor een NetworkManager-configurator die niet aan systemd is gekoppeld. In plaats van systemd-udev is er <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=35619\">eudev<\/a><\/noindex>, een fork van udev van het Gentoo-project. Voor het beheren van gebruikerssessies in KDE, Cinnamon en LXQt is er <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=42079\">elogind<\/a><\/noindex>, een logindoptie die niet aan systemd is gekoppeld. In Xfce en MATE wordt <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=40881\">consolekit<\/a><\/noindex>.<\/p>\n<p><noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/files.devuan.org\/devuan_beowulf\/Release_notes.txt\">Wijzigingen<\/a><\/noindex>, specifiek voor Devuan 3.0:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> De overgang naar het pakketbeheer van Debian 10 &#171;Buster&#187; (pakketten gesynchroniseerd met Debian 10.4) en de Linux-kernel 4.19 is voltooid.\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor de architectuur ppc64el is toegevoegd, naast de eerder ondersteunde platforms i386, amd64, armel, armhf en arm64.\n<li class=\"l\"> Optionele ondersteuning voor de systeembeheerder is geboden <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/smarden.org\/runit\/\">runit<\/a><\/noindex> als alternatief voor \/sbin\/init.\n<li class=\"l\">  De mogelijkheid van het gebruik van een initialisatiesysteem is geboden <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.gentoo.org\/wiki\/OpenRC\">OpenRC<\/a><\/noindex> als alternatief voor de sysv-rc-service en de middelen voor het beheren van runlevels.\n<li class=\"l\"> Er zijn afzonderlijke achtergrondprocessen toegevoegd  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/gentoo\/eudev\">eudev<\/a><\/noindex> en <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/elogind\/elogind\">elogind<\/a><\/noindex> voor het vervangen van de monolithische componenten van systemd die verantwoordelijk zijn voor het beheren van apparaatsbestanden in de directory \/dev, de verwerking van aan-\/afkoppelingen van externe apparaten en het beheren van gebruikerssessies.\n<li class=\"l\"> Een nieuwe displaymanager is geactiveerd,
