De release zal binnenkort beschikbaar zijn in de catalogus <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=org.mozilla.fenix\">Google Play<\/a><\/noindex> (voor gebruik is Android 5 of hoger vereist). Daarnaast is met versie Firefox 77 nu de b\u00e8taversie van reguliere Firefox beschikbaar <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/store\/apps\/details?id=org.mozilla.firefox_beta\">bijbehorende wijzigingen worden voorgesteld<\/a><\/noindex> op basis van Firefox Preview 5.x (Firefox 77 Beta voor Android is identiek aan Firefox Preview 5.1).<\/p>\n<p>Firefox Preview  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/hacks.mozilla.org\/2019\/06\/geckoview-in-2019\/\">gebruikt<\/a><\/noindex> heeft de GeckoView-engine, gebouwd op basis van de Firefox Quantum-technologie, en een set bibliotheken <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/mozilla-mobile.github.io\/android-components\/\">Mozilla Android Components<\/a><\/noindex>, die al worden gebruikt voor het bouwen van browsers <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=49823\">Firefox Focus<\/a><\/noindex> en <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=49541\">Firefox Lite<\/a><\/noindex>. GeckoView is een variant van de Gecko-engine, verpakt als een zelfstandige bibliotheek die onafhankelijk kan worden ge\u00fcpdatet, terwijl Android Components bibliotheken bevat met gangbare componenten die de werking van tabbladen, auto-aanvulling, zoeksuggesties en andere functies van de browser ondersteunen.<\/p>\n<p>Belangrijkste  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/FirefoxPreview\">wijzigingen<\/a><\/noindex>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Een nieuwe pop-up is voorgesteld om te schakelen tussen open tabbladen (<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mozilla-mobile\/fenix\/issues\/11171\">Tab Tray<\/a><\/noindex>). In plaats van open tabbladen op het basisstartscherm weer te geven, is er in deze nieuwe versie een knop toegevoegd met een indicator voor het aantal open tabbladen. Door op deze knop te klikken, verschijnt een aparte lijst met tabbladen die geopend zijn in zowel de normale als de priv\u00e9-modus. Op het startscherm blijven een lijst met vaak gebruikte sites en de inhoud van collecties zichtbaar, waarin informatie over eerder geopende sites is gegroepeerd.
