De code van het project <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/htop-dev\/htop\/\">wordt verspreid<\/a><\/noindex> is gelicentieerd onder GPLv2. De tool onderscheidt zich door functies zoals vrije verticale en horizontale scrollfunctie van de proceslijst, middelen voor de evaluatie van de prestaties van SMP en het gebruik van elk processorcore, de aanwezigheid van een boomweergavemodus, flexibele aanpassingsmogelijkheden van de interface, en ondersteuning voor procesfiltering en -beheer (afsluiten, prioriteitsinstellingen).<\/p>\n<p>De release is voorbereid door een nieuw team van beheerders, die de ontwikkeling hebben overgenomen na een lange periode van inactiviteit van de oorspronkelijke auteur van het project. De nieuwe beheerders hebben een fork gemaakt zonder de naam te wijzigen, de ontwikkeling verplaatst naar een nieuwe repository <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/htop-dev\">htop-dev<\/a><\/noindex> en hebben voor het project een apart domein geregistreerd <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\"
