Nu openen ze de bibliotheek onder de Apache License 2.0 en voegen ze Linux-ondersteuning toe! Swift System moet de enige plek worden voor low-level systeeminterfaces voor alle ondersteunde Swift-platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Swift System is een multi-platformbibliotheek en geen cross-platformbibliotheek. Het biedt een aparte set API's en gedrag op elk ondersteund platform, die nauwkeuriger de basisinterfaces van het besturingssysteem weerspiegelen. Het importeren van de module maakt de native interfaces van het platform beschikbaar, die specifiek zijn voor het betreffende besturingssysteem.<\/p>\n<p>De meeste besturingssystemen ondersteunen vandaag de dag een bepaalde set systeeminterfaces, geschreven in C, die al tientallen jaren bestaan. Hoewel deze API's rechtstreeks vanuit Swift kunnen worden gebruikt, kunnen deze zwak getypte systeeminterfaces, ge\u00efmporteerd vanuit C, gevoelig zijn voor fouten en ongemakkelijk in gebruik.<\/p>\n<p>Swift System benut verschillende talige mogelijkheden van Swift om de uitdrukkelijkheid te verbeteren en deze mogelijkheden voor fouten te elimineren.
