Installatie-Image van RHEL 7.9  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/access.redhat.com\/downloads\/\">beschikbaar<\/a><\/noindex> voor download alleen voor geregistreerde gebruikers van het Red Hat Customer Portal en voorbereid voor architecturen x86_64, IBM POWER7+, POWER8 (big endian en little endian) en IBM System z. De bronbestanden van de pakketten zijn beschikbaar voor download uit <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/git.centos.org\/\">Git-repository<\/a><\/noindex> van het CentOS-project. <\/p>\n<p>De tak RHEL 7.x wordt parallel onderhouden met de tak <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=50644\">RHEL 8.x<\/a><\/noindex> en zal worden ondersteund tot juni 2024. De eerste fase van ondersteuning voor de tak RHEL 7.x, die de implementatie van functionele verbeteringen omvatte, is afgerond. De release van RHEL 7.9 is voorbereid na  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/access.redhat.com\/support\/policy\/updates\/errata\">de overgang<\/a><\/noindex> naar de onderhoudsfase, waarin de prioriteiten zijn verschoven naar bugfixes en beveiliging, met enkele kleine verbeteringen met betrekking tot de ondersteuning van belangrijke hardware systemen. <\/p>\n<p>Onder <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/access.redhat.com\/documentation\/en-us\/red_hat_enterprise_linux\/7\/html-single\/7.9_release_notes\/index\">wijzigingen<\/a><\/noindex>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"l\"> Zijn de versies van sommige pakketten ge\u00fcpdatet (SSSD 1.16.5, pacemaker 1.1.23, FreeRDP 2.1.1, MariaDB 5.5.68);\n<li class=\"l\"> Een EDAC (Error Detection and Correction) driver is toegevoegd voor Intel ICX-systemen;\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor Mellanox ConnectX-6 Dx netwerkadapters is gerealiseerd;\n<li class=\"l\"> Drivers zijn ge\u00fcpdatet (QLogic FCoE, HP Smart Array Controller, Broadcom MegaRAID SAS, QLogic Fibre Channel HBA Driver, Microsemi Smart Family Controller);\n<li class=\"l\"> Ondersteuning voor SCSI T10 DIF\/DIX (Data Integrity Field\/Data Integrity Extension) technologie\u00ebn en Intel Omni-Path Architecture (OPA) is verzekerd.\n<li class=\"l\"> In de kernel zijn de parameters bert_disable en bert_enable toegevoegd voor het beheren van de inschakeling van BERT (Boot Error Record Table) in probleem-BIOS, evenals de parameter srbds voor het inschakelen van bescherming tegen de kwetsbaarheid <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=53126\">SRBDS<\/a><\/noindex> (Special Register Buffer Data Sampling).\n<\/ul>\n<p>In het kielzog heeft Oracle <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.oracle.com\/linux\/announcing-the-release-of-oracle-linux-7-update-9\">gevormd<\/a><\/noindex> release van de distributie <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/www.oracle.com\/us\/technologies\/linux\/product\/overview\/index.html\">Oracle Linux 7.9<\/a><\/noindex>, gebaseerd op de pakketbasis van Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.9. Voor onbeperkte downloads <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/yum.oracle.com\/oracle-linux-isos.html\">wordt verspreid<\/a><\/noindex> is de installatie-iso-image beschikbaar, met een grootte van 4,7 GB, voorbereid voor architecturen x86_64 en ARM64 (aarch64). Ook voor Oracle Linux <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"http:\/\/edelivery.oracle.com\/linux\">is er onbeperkt en gratis toegang geopend tot de yum-repository met binaire pakketupdates met bugfixes (errata) en beveiligingsproblemen.<\/a><\/noindex> Naast het pakket met de kernel uit RHEL (3.10.0-1160), wordt in Oracle Linux<\/p>\n<p>de in het voorjaar vrijgegeven Unbreakable Enterprise Kernel 6 (kernel-uek-5.4.17-2011.6.2.el7uek) meegeleverd, die standaard wordt aangeboden. De bronbestanden van de kernel, inclusief het splitsen in afzonderlijke patches, zijn beschikbaar in de openbare <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=52670\">Git-repository<\/a><\/noindex> van Oracle. De kernel wordt gepositioneerd als alternatief voor het standaard kernelpakket dat bij Red Hat Enterprise Linux wordt geleverd, en biedt een reeks <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/oss.oracle.com\/git\/?p=linux-uek.git;a=summary\">features.<\/a><\/noindex> mogelijkheden.  <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=38229\">uitgebreide<\/a><\/noindex> <noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.opennet.ru\/opennews\/art.shtml?num=43644\">mogelijkheden<\/a><\/noindex>, zoals de integratie van DTrace en verbeterde ondersteuning voor Btrfs.
