{"id":98233,"date":"2020-10-26T02:42:18","date_gmt":"2020-10-26T00:42:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/blog\/novosti-interneta\/uefi-and-fedora"},"modified":"2020-11-18T00:58:43","modified_gmt":"2020-11-17T22:58:43","slug":"uefi-and-fedora","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/prohoster.info\/nl\/blog\/news\/uefi-and-fedora","title":{"rendered":"UEFI en Fedora","gt_translate_keys":[{"key":"rendered","format":"text"}]},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Aangezien Intel in 2020 stopt met de ondersteuning van BIOS<br \/>\n<noindex><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=Intel-Legacy-BIOS-EOL-2020\">https:\/\/www.phoronix.com\/scan.php?page=news_item&amp;px=Intel-Legacy-BIOS-EOL-2020<\/a><\/p>\n<p><\/noindex><\/p>\n<p>\u00abIntel-platforms die dit jaar zijn geproduceerd, zullen vermoedelijk niet in staat zijn om 32-bits besturingssystemen te draaien, niet in staat zijn om gerelateerde software te gebruiken (tenzij native), en niet in staat zijn om oudere hardware te gebruiken, zoals RAID HBAs (en dus oudere harde schijven die met die HBAs zijn verbonden), netwerkkaarten en zelfs grafische kaarten die geen UEFI-compatibele vBIOS hebben (uitgebracht voor 2012 - 2013) enz.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00abAssemblages voor Intel, die dit jaar zijn uitgebracht, zullen niet in staat zijn om 32-bits applicaties te draaien, niet in staat zijn om gerelateerde software te gebruiken (tenzij native) en niet in staat zijn om oudere apparatuur te gebruiken, zoals RAID HBA (en oudere harde schijven die deze gebruiken), netwerkkaarten en zelfs videokaarten zonder UEFI-compatibele vBIOS (met andere woorden, uitgebracht voor 2012-2013)\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Er is een discussie gaande onder de ontwikkelaars van Fedora over het volledig afstappen van BIOS en volledig over te stappen op UEFI. De discussie zelf werd gestart op 30 juni, maar is nu vrij actief.<\/p>\n<p>P.S. Voor zover ik begrijp, wilden ze dit al realiseren in de komende Fedora 33 (uitgave op de 20ste, aankondiging op de 27ste, nadat de release op alle mirrors is gepubliceerd), maar het is tot nu toe
