Klaarstaande testafbeeldingen zijn gemaakt voor Ubuntu, Ubuntu Server, Lubuntu, Kubuntu, Ubuntu Mate, Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu Studio, Xubuntu en UbuntuKylin (de editie voor China).<\/p>\n<p>Belangrijkste wijzigingen:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>De versies van de toepassingen zijn bijgewerkt. De desktop is bijgewerkt naar GNOME 3.38, en de Linux-kernel naar versie 5.8. De versies van GCC 10, LLVM 11, OpenJDK 11, Rust 1.41, Python 3.8.6, Ruby 2.7.0, Perl 5.30, Go 1.13 en PHP 7.4.9 zijn bijgewerkt. Een nieuwe versie van de kantoorsuite LibreOffice 7.0 is aangeboden. Systeemcomponenten zoals glibc 2.32, PulseAudio 13, BlueZ 5.55, NetworkManager 1.26.2, QEMU 5.0, Libvirt 6.6 zijn bijgewerkt.<\/li>\n<li>De overstap naar het standaard gebruik van de pakketfilter nftables is gerealiseerd.<\/li>\n<li>Offici\u00eble ondersteuning is geboden voor de Raspberry Pi 4 en Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4, voor welke een aparte build met een speciaal geoptimaliseerde editie van Ubuntu Desktop is voorbereid.<\/li>\n<li>De installatieprogramma Ubiquity heeft de mogelijkheid toegevoegd om authenticatie in Active Directory in te schakelen.<\/li>\n<li>Het popcon (popularity-contest) pakket is uit de hoofdset verwijderd, dat werd gebruikt voor het verzenden van geanonimiseerde telemetrie over het downloaden, installeren, updaten en verwijderen van pakketten.<\/li>\n<li>Toegang tot de tool \/usr\/bin\/dmesg is alleen beperkt tot gebruikers die lid zijn van de groep &laquo;adm&raquo;. Als reden wordt genoemd dat de uitvoer van dmesg informatie bevat die door aanvallers kan worden gebruikt om het cre\u00ebren van exploits voor privileges omhoog te vereenvoudigen.<\/li>\n<li>Wijzigingen in de afbeeldingen voor cloudsystemen: Builds met gespecialiseerde kernels voor cloudsystemen en KVM worden standaard nu zonder initramfs opgestart (gewone kernels gebruiken nog steeds initramfs). Voor een snellere eerste opstart wordt een vooraf gevormde inhoud voor snap geleverd, waarmee dynamisch laden van benodigde componenten (seeding) kan worden vermeden.<\/li>\n<p><noindex><\/p>\n<li>In <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/kubuntu.org\/\">Kubuntu<\/a> De desktop KDE Plasma 5.19, de applicatieset KDE Applications 20.08.1 en de bibliotheek Qt 5.14.2 zijn aangeboden. Versies van Elisa 20.08.1, latte-dock 0.9.10, Krita 4.3.0 en Kdevelop 5.5.2 zijn bijgewerkt.<\/li>\n<p><\/noindex><\/p>\n<li>In <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ubuntu-mate.org\/\">Ubuntu MATE<\/a> Net als in de vorige release wordt de desktop MATE 1.24 meegeleverd.<\/li>\n<li>In <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/lubuntu.me\/\">Lubuntu<\/a> Een grafische omgeving LXQt 0.15.0 is voorgesteld.<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ubuntubudgie.org\/\">Ubuntu Budgie<\/a>: In Shuffler, de interface voor snelle navigatie tussen geopende vensters en het groeperen van vensters in een raster, is de functie &laquo;kleefbijeenkomsten&raquo; toegevoegd en zijn middelen voor commando-beheer ge\u00efmplementeerd. Het menu heeft nu ondersteuning voor het zoeken naar GNOME-instellingen en veel afleidende pictogrammen zijn verwijderd. Een Mojave-thema is toegevoegd met pictogrammen en interface-elementen in macOS-stijl. Er is een nieuwe applet met een fullscreen-interface voor navigatie door ge\u00efnstalleerde programma's toegevoegd, die als alternatief voor het applicatiemenu kan worden gebruikt. Het Budgie-bureaublad is bijgewerkt naar de nieuwste code-snapshot uit Git.<\/li>\n<li>In <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/ubuntustudio.org\/\">Ubuntu Studio<\/a> De overgang naar KDE Plasma als standaard desktop is gerealiseerd (vroeger werd Xfce aangeboden). KDE Plasma biedt kwalitatief hoogwaardige tools voor grafische kunstenaars en fotografen (Gwenview, Krita) en betere ondersteuning voor Wacom-tablets. Ook is er overgestapt op de nieuwe Calamares-installateur. In Ubuntu Studio Controls is de ondersteuning voor Firewire hersteld (drivers op basis van ALSA en FFADO zijn beschikbaar). Een nieuwe geluidsessiemanager, voortgekomen uit de Non Session Manager, en de tool mcpdisp zijn toegevoegd. De versies van Ardour 6.2, Blender 2.83.5, KDEnlive 20.08.1, Krita 4.3.0, GIMP 2.10.18, Scribus 1.5.5, Darktable 3.2.1, Inkscape 1.0.1, Carla 2.2, Studio Controls 2.0.8, OBS Studio 25.0.8 en MyPaint 2.0.0 zijn bijgewerkt. Rawtherapee is uit de basisversie verwijderd ten gunste van Darktable. Jack Mixer is terug in de hoofdset.<\/li>\n<li>In <a rel=\"nofollow\" href=\"https:\/\/wiki.xubuntu.org\/releases\/20.10\/release-notes\">Xubuntu<\/a> De versies van de componenten Parole Media Player 1.0.5, Thunar File Manager 1.8.15, Xfce Desktop 4.14.2, Xfce Panel 4.14.4, Xfce Terminal 0.8.9.2, Xfce Window Manager 4.14.5, enz. zijn bijgewerkt.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Wijzigingen in Ubuntu Server:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In de pakketten adcli en realmd is de ondersteuning voor Active Directory verbeterd.<\/li>\n<li>Het Samba 4.12-pakket is samengesteld met de GnuTLS-bibliotheek, wat heeft geleid tot een aanzienlijke verbetering van de versleutelingprestaties voor SMB3.<\/li>\n<li>De IMAP-server Dovecot is bijgewerkt naar versie 2.3.11 met ondersteuning voor SSL\/STARTTLS voor proxied verbindingen met doveadm en de mogelijkheid om IMAP-transacties in batchmodus uit te voeren.<\/li>\n<li>De liburing-bibliotheek is toegevoegd, waarmee het io_uring-asynchrone input\/output-interface kan worden gebruikt, dat libaio op prestaties overtreft (bijvoorbeeld, liburing wordt ondersteund in de samba-vfs-modules en qemu pakketten).<\/li>\n<li>Er is een pakket toegevoegd met het
