Er zijn nieuwe opstartbundels van de Void Linux-distributie gevormd, een onafhankelijk project dat geen gebruikmaakt van de ontwikkelingen van andere distributies en wordt ontwikkeld met behulp van een continu versie-updatecyclus (rolling updates, zonder aparte distributiereleases). De vorige bundels werden in 2019 gepubliceerd. Naast de beschikbaarheid van actuele opstartimages op basis van een recentere systeemafsnijding brengt de update van de bundels geen functionele wijzigingen en is hun gebruik alleen zinvol voor nieuwe installaties (in reeds ge\u00efnstalleerde systemen worden pakketupdates geleverd zodra ze beschikbaar zijn). <\/p>\n

Voor de platforms x86_64, i686, armv6l, armv7l en aarch64 zijn Live-images voorbereid met de desktops Enlightenment, Cinnamon, Mate, Xfce, LXDE en LXQt, evenals een consoleversie. In de ARM-bundels worden de BeagleBone\/BeagleBone Black, Cubieboard 2, Odroid U2\/U3, RaspberryPi (ARMv6), RaspberryPi 2 en RaspberryPi 3 ondersteund. De bundels zijn beschikbaar in versies op basis van de systeembibliotheken Glibc en Musl. De in Void ontwikkelde systemen worden verspreid onder de BSD-licentie. <\/p>\n

De distributie maakt gebruik van de systeemmanager runit voor initialisatie en servicebeheer. Voor pakketbeheer wordt een eigen pakketbeheerder xbps en een systeem voor het bouwen van pakketten xbps-src ontwikkeld. Xbps stelt gebruikers in staat om applicaties te installeren, te verwijderen en bij te werken, incompatibiliteit van gedeelde bibliotheken te identificeren en afhankelijkheden te beheren. In plaats van Glibc is er de mogelijkheid om Musl te gebruiken als standaardbibliotheek. LibreSSL wordt in plaats van OpenSSL gebruikt, maar er wordt overwogen terug te keren naar OpenSSL.
